Aalis was responsible for helping to maintain the Foundation’s online and social media presence, including managing the content calendar, scheduling posts, conducting market research to identify best practices and followership trends. They also edited digital content according to instructions provided by their supervisor or a higher-level specialist, ensuring that it was of high quality, clear, and consistent. Additionally, Aalis helped with publicity efforts to get news media coverage for noteworthy events, using their knowledge of standard print and broadcast media communications to recommend the most effective techniques for each situation. They suggested various print and digital media options and delivery methods, and used a range of associated software to create press information packets and materials such as photo distribution, folders, biographies, brochures, and other publicity materials. Aalis also assisted with drafting articles, press releases, talking points, fact sheets, and communication plans for internal and external publication. They researched and wrote narrative content to tell stories, including creating content about grant impact, USADF representatives and staff, and developing distribution mechanisms. They verified the accuracy of the information presented and interviewed people to obtain current information. Finally, Aalis helped to plan special events with diplomats, private-sector partners, guest speakers, and headquarters staff..
